Behind the Lens: The Sand Quarry Amphitheater, Tobacco Road

Tobacco Road is widely celebrated as golf's ultimate work of landscape architecture. Carved from an abandoned sand quarry, the layout features dramatic 50-foot elevation drops, sheer sandy ridges, and artistic wooden tee monuments. A true conversational art piece for any golf enthusiast's home.

Photographer Field Notes:

Framed from the elevated tee plateau to highlight the dramatic natural contours and Strantz's signature artistic sandy waste areas.
